Being Present in Your Own LifeSample
LEARNING HOW TO BE THE YOU GOD INTENDED YOU TO BE
Although I felt something was missing through many of those years, I know that God could still bring out the good parts. I know that going through experiences made me grow, and many times it is in what we consider the failures that God can use and qualify us for His will in our lives.
Decades ago, I never dreamed I would one day become a widow, nor did I realize then that I would go through some health issues that would prevent me from a verbal ministry. When my husband was alive and healthy, I had no concerns about doing things in life alone and having to make some serious decisions.
“The Lord upholds all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down.” Psalm 145-14
Although I didn’t realize it then, I was using my talents to serve and was strengthened for what was to come. God often does things in ways we would never dream of doing.
Many times during my working years, I felt I couldn’t attend another board meeting. I would cry, but I needed to work to help with the income. I always thought I couldn’t be myself in those days. Time and time again, Isaiah 41:10 proved itself to me.
“So do not fear (put your name here), for I am with you; do not be dismayed (Put your name here), for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. Put your name here); I will uphold (Put your name here) with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
Sometimes we must be bowed over to come to who we are.
- When we spend quality time talking to the Lord as if He was our best friend (and He is).
- When we tell Him everything that we don’t like about ourselves.
- When we tell Him all our fears.
- When submitting totally to Him.
“Many plans are in a man’s mind, but it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand (be carried out).” Proverbs 19:21 AMP
We become present when we bring our minds back into focus with the Lord. When we put all our busyness, concerns, and cares into His hands and talk openly about everything with Him, we become present with who He created us to be!
