如何应对焦虑(第二部分)
这听起来可能像异端邪说,但如果你超级焦虑,深呼吸可能比从圣经开始更好。我这么说是因为你的扁桃腺,也就是你大脑中那个杏仁状的东西,似乎是上帝保护你免受危险的方式。如果一只咆哮的狮子闯入你的家,你的扁桃腺会触发你的身体与之对抗或逃离它。它将重新分配你的大脑和其他器官的血液,并将传达给你的肌肉,这样你就可以冲刺到门外,或抓住一把椅子开始挥舞。你不需要在生命危险的时候做复杂的思考,对吧?
然而,你的扁桃腺以假警报而闻名,即使在160公里内没有狮子,它也会响起。一个随意的想法,会引发同样的身体反应,所以,焦虑常常会让你胃疼,不让你做理性思考。因此,如果你的大脑被吓到了,我可以拿起圣经,与你讲道理,但你还没有准备好与我理论。这就是为什么处理焦虑的第一个方法是呼吸。深呼吸实际上是利用你的神经系统来告诉你的扁桃腺——没关系,你没事了。你不是在躲避一头狮子,可以停下来,慢下来,再想想。
“我要称谢你,因我受造奇妙可畏。”(诗139:14)记住那些名言。它们会帮助你迈出身体上的一步,从而带来灵性的祝福。呼吸,它将帮助你沉思真理,使你焦虑的心平静下来。
