How apparent is God in your world? Joseph's story displays a generational shift in how God engages with humanity. While Abraham, Jacob, Moses all had encounters with God or angels, Joseph's experience is different again. How often do we assume God has to stick to the patterns we expect Him to?

Something to think about while you are reading today’s passage:

There are no guarantees about where or when we will encounter God. However, the New Testament tells us that God is visible in people being who God made them to be - loving parents, diligent workers, obedient children. Look again at Joseph's experience - and your own - for where God can be seen.

Something to talk about with players of The Aetherlight:

The Scarlet Man has laid plenty of clues for players to find in the game, and provided a few items they have needed along the way. You could ask them how they felt discovering those things, and what it might say about how God is present even when we can't see His involvement clearly.
