Exploring God’s World With God’s Word: 5 Days of Biblical Adventures

DAY 2 OF 5

Everybody has at least a few big worries at some point in life. In those moments of uncertainty or confusion, we might ask if God sees us and cares about our big worries. When God told Noah about his plan to flood the earth, Noah must have had a million questions and worries. But God sent Noah a solution even bigger than his worries, an ark big enough for him, his family, and two of all the creatures on earth! And when Noah reached dry land again, God made a covenant with him, a true and lasting promise that he would not flood the earth again. Later, God would make another act of salvation when he sent his son, Jesus, to die for our sins so we could have a close relationship with him forever.

In the unknown parts of our lives, we may not have directions as specific as Noah’s, but we do have God’s promises to us in his Word. We can learn about how he saves those he loves and trust that God’s love for us will always be bigger than the worries we bring to him.

How big exactly was the ark?

The ark was 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high.

That means the ark was big enough to hold:

  • 2,482 minivans
  • 33,750 refrigerators
  • 7,065,665 soccer balls
  • 771,882,353 cell phones
  • 320,048,780 Christmas ornaments
  • 3,364,615,385 marbles
