Our passages for today speak of how many nations are going to be drawn to follow the Lord. Through the coming Messiah, items used as weapons will be turned into tools as humanity has the opportunity to return to the purpose given in Eden to co-create with God. Those dispersed will be gathered into God’s family as his salvation goes forth. The nation is going to be enlarged or multiplied. This is the heritage that we now enjoy as the church, wherever we are from.
We have been grafted into God’s new covenant with Israel so that we, too, might become the people of God through the Messiah.

What is the story of the church? This plan is a month-long journey through the Bible, looking at how God uses people, situations, and symbols to bring about communion between God and humanity once again. It follows the story of Israel and then the early church, highlighting the church's hope for resurrection and new creation and our role as agents of that new creation.
