Keys of Sincere RejoicingSample
Reasons to Rejoice
Throughout our lives, we dedicate our time to doing things and don’t understand why we do them. Many of them are things that lead us to cover the role we play or the position we have as employees, parents, children, and bosses in everyday life. It is common that when asked why they have chosen their current job, why they keep hanging out with those toxic friends, or why they don’t make the necessary changes in their diet, people typically answer, “I don’t know.”
When we understand the Lord is inviting us to rejoice and not to think only that we should rejoice, the idea of rejoicing takes on a different meaning. We then have a glimpse of God’s heart for us. We see how rejoicing is part of His purpose for us as His children. We discover that we glorify Him in our daily lives when we rejoice. Our joy helps us to stay in the position that allows us to hear His voice and obey Him.
We can see from the Bible that there are at least three important reasons to rejoice.
We rejoice because we trust in the Lord. In the book of Psalms, David speaks to us. God’s Word is true, and He will fulfill all that is spoken in it. That is one of the reasons that should cause us to rejoice: We rejoice because we know that we have security in Him and can trust Him. There is no one else in the whole universe that we can trust the way we trust God. Every letter of His Word will be fulfilled, and that is great news!
Another great reason to rejoice is that His righteousness is applied to us. We rejoice that God loves righteousness and justice and will apply it on earth. As we seek Him with a humble heart, we can trust that He will be in our favor thanks to the work of Jesus Christ on the cross and His resurrection. This is great news!
Finally, we rejoice because nothing can separate us from God’s love. We can rejoice in knowing Him and in knowing we are saved and accepted, that He came into our life at just the right time and that there is nothing that can separate us from Him. He is everywhere, but the earth is also filled with His love because we manifest His love and make a difference in the world. When Christians go out and shine the love of Jesus and rejoice, it fills the earth with His love.
Lord, help me rejoice in You every day, shine where I am, and show Your love and joy every moment because You have a plan for me and those around me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
