5 Days Praising God With Your PreschoolerSample
We Can Praise God with Simple Words
How do you praise the Lord? Are you trying to log hours of quiet time each week? Do you keep a long prayer journal or work to squeeze in a nature walk every weekend? Do you put pressure on yourself to praise God in a “right” manner?
The Bible, especially the book of Psalms, gives us many simple words we can use to praise God. Short verses pack a lot of power when it comes to expressing our praise to the Lord.
Commit a few of these to memory and meditate on them daily, even if just for a few minutes. Ask the Holy Spirit to create in you a lifestyle of expressing gratitude and praise. Teach your children that expressing praise doesn’t have to be hard, complicated, or a long process of drudgery.
Say:
We need only simple words to praise God. The Bible gives us many different words from people who praised Him, and we can use those same words when we praise Him. You can praise God anytime, anywhere, and all day long.
Ask:
- What do you think is the hardest thing about praising God?
- What are some simple words you can use to praise God?
Close with a prayer of praise based on your child’s responses.
