Through the Bible: Jude

DAY 3 OF 3

Strong Foundation in Christ

To Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy. Jude 1:24 (NIV)
Everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. Matthew 7:24 (NIV)

The Petronas Twin Towers, situated in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, have the world’s deepest foundations. A deep foundation is essential for a tall building. Do you wonder why the Twin Towers, which are not the tallest in the world, require deeper foundations than others? I am not an engineer, but the answer depends on the soil type and ground it was built on.

We are to immerse ourselves in His Word and act on it. We need to draw from Jesus to build our faith, but knowing this principle alone is insufficient, much like the ground and soil upon which a tall building is built. Likewise, to stand firm on our faith, we need a strong foundation. God calls us to live lives in total submission to Him, not tossed by the changing tides but anchored in the Truth of His Words. We are to abide in the Holy Spirit during the challenging seasons of our lives or circumstances and be a people of perseverance, sure-footed to know His promises are sure, and Amen.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, we desire to go deeper in You, living impactful lives transformed, renewed, and empowered by the Holy Spirit to make a difference. In Jesus’ name. Amen

About this Plan

Through the Bible: Jude

Despite its brevity, the letter must have been held in high regard due to Jude’s familial relationship with Jesus. The letter reminds Christ’s followers to beware of false teachers and ungodly people who have crept into church communities. Jude speaks of their due punishment and encourages believers always to stand firm in the truth and love of Jesus, who can present us blamelessly on judgment day.
