When You're Feeling Spiritually BlahSample
Key #2 – Stay Connected
Remember, this blah feeling is temporary. This, too, shall pass. Thank God you will wake up on fire again one day. So it’s important to keep going. Here’s another key to help you do that.
On days when you feel blah, remember that you don’t have to live life in your own strength. Ephesians 6:10 says, …my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. One way to “be strong” in Him and renew your connection with Him when you feel blah is by praying.
Picture it like this: a lamp has the ability to light up a room -- but not if it's unplugged. The lamp can't give forth light on it's own, it has to be connected to the power source. You and I are much the same way. We don't have to produce the light on our own, and in fact we can't. We must plug in to our power source -- the Holy Spirit -- in order to shine forth!
The Holy Spirit is your Helper (John 14:26), and He lives right inside you – He’s available 24/7! When you pray, you’re activating supernatural help in your life – for today and the future. What a secret weapon we have!
If you’re feeling blah, it's time to move closer to God and seek Him. The good thing is, He is always available! James 4:8 says every time you draw near to Him, He draws near to you. You'll never get His voice mail or a busy signal. He loves you, He has your answers, and He's always ready to listen.
Prayer is simply a conversation -- talking to God. Remember that the best conversations are two-way conversations. When you pray, don't do all the talking, be sure to listen for God's response too! His love and wisdom are there for you.
