How to Find Your DestinySample
When God Does Call
When my sister moved into her current house, she invited me to come over. I wasn't familiar with that area of town, and the road narrowed the closer I got to her house. I contemplated turning around but then noticed that although the road was dimly lit, the headlights on my car allowed me to see five to seven yellow lines in front of me at any given time. Once I kept my eyes on the yellow directional lines that I could see, I knew the direction the road was taking me. So, I kept going and eventually arrived safely in my sister's driveway.
That's great, Chrystal, but what do five to seven yellow lines have to do with me finding my destiny? Well, I'm glad you asked.
An important part of this faith journey is knowing that when God calls, He generally will only reveal just enough direction to us for that day. Remember Ruth? Ruth remained focused on what was directly in front of her. From her journey to Bethlehem to gleaning in the field of Boaz to then laying at his feet on the threshing floor, every experience became preparation ground for the next. As hard as the in-between must have been for her, Ruth obediently followed the direction of God's call on her life, and her story ended well.
Let me remind you, yours will end well too.
As we wrap up this series, allow me to encourage you that when you hear the voice of God, when you know He is calling you to something, somewhere or someone, write it down. Make it official. Mark it in time. This will serve two purposes.
First, when you become unnerved – and notice I said when, not if – by the voices of emotion, reason, the masses, and the enemy, you will be able to remind yourself of the Word God spoke into Your life and can be confident of this:
"…that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." (Phil 1:6)
Secondly, when God does bring the plan He spoke into your life to completion, seeing it on paper will serve as a reminder of His faithfulness in the journey and will spur you on to live a life faithful to Him - even if all He's given you today is just five to seven yellow lines.
Prayer:
Lord God, thank you for this time of study this week. I know I must know Your voice to discover Your purpose for my life. Help me remain faithful to studying Your Word and let Your voice be loudest. I thank you, Lord, that You saw it fit to have good plans for us here on earth and that You love us, giving us hope of an eternal destiny with You. Speak, Lord! I'm listening. In Jesus' name, I pray, with thanksgiving, Amen!

About this Plan
Have you ever asked yourself, "What is my purpose in life?" My guess is that you have. Over the next seven days, we will journey through the story of a girl who pushed past the voices of emotion, reason, and the masses to pursue God's plans for her life. My hope is that her story will encourage you as you seek out yours.
