On the Flip SideSample

If you could summarize the story of the entire Bible in one sentence, what would you say? Where would you begin? Where would it end?! So many of us have tried, but there's no way to sum it all up in one sentence when there are so many important truths. The Bible is about the story of God's desire to be with people! We find this to be true from Genesis, the first book of the Bible, to the Gospels, the books that tell the story of Jesus. God wants to bless the world by offering hope in Jesus.
Part of that mission is transformation — for humanity and all of creation. So when we put our hope and trust in Jesus, we become part of the plan that God has been unfolding since the beginning. Ever since then, God has been on a mission, partnering with humanity to bring healing. Even though we don't always get it right, God calls us on this journey and begins to change us — what we value and our outlook on life.
Reflect and share one or two specific ways that God has changed you (and is continuing to change you) through the good news of Jesus with a friend.

About this Plan

Jesus wasn’t exactly known for telling people what they wanted to hear. Jesus didn’t give feel-good sermons. He flipped people’s ideas about God, the world, and themselves upside down — usually in uncomfortable ways. In this 20-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll compare how Jesus challenged the religious leaders and what God says in the Old Testament on what’s wrong or right, good or bad, and just or unjust.
