The Return of the Bride
“Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready. And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Then he said to me, ‘Write: Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’” (Rev. 19:7–9).
After the Bridegroom comes for His bride, He will take her back to His Father’s house. There, the marriage of the Lamb and the church will take place. On earth, will be a grand celebration of the Father’s perfect plan, that united in matrimony His Son and those who had been promised to Him, through the sealing of the Holy Spirit during the church age on earth. Now that the matrimonial ceremony is complete and the judgment is done, it is time for the banquet. The Bridegroom and the bride will both return to the earth because the guests to the feast will not be angelic beings, but the people belonging to God who survived to the end of the tribulation, including the recently “revivaled” Jews.
In Chapter 19, John sees Jesus Christ returning to rule over all the kingdoms of the world.
“Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS (Rev. 19:11–16).
What a glorious event! What a grandiose celebration! And not only are we returning as the bride, but we are also coming back as the army of God.
The Army of the Bad Guys
If the Warrior Jesus is riding forth to battle with a sword to strike the nations, where are the armies that have gathered to fight Him? These are the kings of the earth who followed the Antichrist and the false prophet.
“And they gathered them together in the placed called in Hebrew, Armageddon” (Rev. 16:16).
The armies will immediately be put to death by Christ, and the beast and the false prophet will be thrown into the lake of fire.
Satan Shut Away
“Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while” (Rev. 20:1–3).
