DAY 17 OF 20

One of nature's wonders is the ability some trees have to intertwine their roots with one another. They'll withstand any storm because they're holding each other down. It may look messy or complicated on the surface, but it's an intricate way of caring for one another. It's the same for our spiritual lives — growth is easier to notice when growing together and supporting one another.

Paul's letters mention a similar support system between Paul and Timothy. Paul wanted to help Timothy grow in his faith by being a living example to him. Timothy even joined Paul in his travels! He intentionally chose Timothy to travel with him so that he could help Timothy grow in his faith. When times got tough, Paul was able to encourage him, holding him down and keeping him grounded. As Christ-followers, we should have people around us that can intentionally help build up our faith.

Would you say you've grown in your faith recently? Who has helped you as you've grown?

About this Plan

Real

Figuring out how to make and keep real friendships can be hard work. Maybe it’s just easier to keep our friendships on the surface. These days, when “friends” are just a click or a follow away, it’s more important than ever to figure out what true friendship really looks like. We’ll explore real friendships in this 20-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum.
