DAY 5 OF 20

Who would you say is the GOAT (greatest of all time) of basketball? Is it Michael Jordan, Lebron James. . . Steph Curry? Whoever you think it is, there's a reason you believe they are the best—you've seen them play. Imagine if Lebron James were telling everyone he was the greatest basketball player of all time, but he never picked up a ball. It would be pretty hard to believe that he was a basketball player, let alone the greatest of all time.

Our faith in Jesus is sort of like this. It isn't enough to just say we believe in Jesus. We need to live out our faith. In James' letter, you can read all about this: faith has to move us to action. Simply saying we believe God is loving is not enough, and talking about the hope Jesus brings is insufficient. Genuine faith inspires and empowers us to act in love and offer hope.

What are some ways our faith can be put into action? How can we live our faith out in our everyday lives to show others what it's like to follow Jesus?

About this Plan

Catalyst

Science can explain the mysteries in the world around us; there are answers for many of the mysterious things about faith too. You’ll learn in science class that “catalysts” are interactions that create big changes and transformations. Scripture shows us certain change-making “catalysts” are necessary for our faith and the faith of others. In this 20-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll explore the catalysts for our faith.
