Be Still: 15 More Days With GodSample
GOD'S FAITHFULNESS
Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. LAMENTATIONS 3:22-23
The most glorious promises in the Bible, the most profound teachings about God and His faithfulness, are often found right in the midst of some of the darkest and most distressing events in the history of Israel.
Lamentations is arguably one of the most depressing books in the Bible. Yet, right in the center is this tremendous promise which is the very basis of our hope as well—His faithfulness! Despite the desperate captivity by a cruel nation, God’s intention was for His mercy to unfold. Israel would not be utterly destroyed because of the Lord’s mercy and unfailing compassion.
The Lord’s love is perfect. It is not encumbered by any need to be loved in return. He simply does what is best for us. At times, the way is rough, and so often, that is because of our stubborn sin and rebellion. Yet when we turn to trust in Him, we can rely upon His mercies, which are new every morning.
Just as the daily manna was given to the Israelites in the wilderness, He will supply each day. They tried to store it up for the next day out of fear of the future, but it turned rotten. It was just enough for the day. And so, there are new mercies of God waiting for us to gather every morning that He might show Himself faithful. Let’s get focused on Him!

About this Plan
"Be still, and know that I am God;" (PSALM 46:10a). Many Christians are familiar with this verse, but do we really understand it? This exhortation applies when we are distracted by our successes, as when we are fearful and disquieted by some troublesome news. We must learn to quiet ourselves by opening God’s Word and gaining His perspective in both cases.
