An Angel Encounter!Sample

ANGELS ALL AROUND

“Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it.” Hebrews 13:2.

It is very reassuring when we read about angels in the scripture. Hebrews 13:2 indicates there may be more around us than we can contemplate. Perhaps you and I have crossed paths with an angel without even realizing it.

We think of angels as being beautiful with wings, robed in white, with a halo around their heads. However, if we are to be hospitable to strangers, I think most angels are much different than what our vision of them has been.

I admit it is very exciting to think that we might have a guardian angel assigned to us, but I approach this study with great caution.

We must never worship angels.

"For it was not to angels that God subjected the world to come, of which we are speaking. It has been testified somewhere, 'What is man, that you are mindful of him, or the son of man, that you care for him? You made him for a little while lower than the angels; you have crowned him with glory and honor, putting everything in subjection under his feet.' Now in putting everything in subjection to him, he left nothing outside his control. At present, we do not yet see everything in subjection to him. But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone." Hebrews 2-5-9

We have many who question why a loved one died, why some children suffer and die, why an angel didn’t stop a massacre, etc. We can’t dismiss the fact that just like there are heavenly angels, there are powers of darkness in the world.

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this world’s darkness, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” Ephesians 6:12. Yes, there are demonic forces.

Let us live our lives in obedience to the Lord, leaning on Him and asking that our loved ones be covered not only physically, but spiritually. Our earthly life will end one day and we will meet the Lord and angels, face to face.
