Focus on the possibilities
This morning, I just couldn't think of the reference for the well-known verse, "'To him who believes, all things are possible.'" So, I Googled it. The very first thing that popped up in the results, even before the verse did, was a website about Markus Eisenbichler, an incredible German ski jumper who has big goals for his life and career!
But right before the Four Hills Tournament of all things (a famous German-Austrian ski jumping event), it didn't look very good for him. "I'm at a loss," he himself said after the touring dress rehearsal. "I'm just uncertain. I think that's the main problem. I know I can ski jump quite well, but I just don't have the confidence right now."
So what's your current frustration? My frustration, for example, might be, "I know I have something to say, but here in Germany where I live, there are still very few venues where events are allowed at the moment."
But let's stop right here! There are so many problems. But there are at least as many possibilities!
Yes, I can't be on tour right now, reaching people with hope in that way. That's a problem, my problem. But I can write, record, and encourage you and others this way! That is a possibility! My possibility!
When I first got started, I also had huge self-doubts: "Can I do this at all? There are others who speak German more perfectly and could write much better messages."
But after all I've experienced with God, particularly in the times I felt helpless and perplexed, I know where I can go with my self-doubts. God is also saying to you today, you don't have to be 'successful' or 'good' at anything at all…you just have to BELIEVE!"
Yes, as Mark 9:23 (NKJV) says, "'...all things are possible to him who believes.'"
This has been my experience…and that's how I know it'll always be! This is also true for you. There are many problems, yes. But if you believe, there are at least as many possibilities!
Just believe!
You're a miracle!
