Did Jesus Exist?

I once read a book that argued the earth was hollow and populated inside by a super race of aliens. It even had photos to prove it. It was interesting, but I didn’t believe it. Why? Because all the evidence says, the earth’s core is solid!

In every society, you will find people who believe all kinds of conspiracy theories, just as there are people who believe Jesus of Nazareth never existed: that he is just some kind of Christian invention. All the evidence, however, is against them.

Did you know most ancient history professionals who are experts in this field are confident that Jesus of Nazareth existed, just like Alexander the Great or Julius Caesar? There are very, very few historians who would argue Jesus Christ never existed. However, people listen when they talk about it because they are so unusual.

One thing that distinguishes Christianity from many other faith traditions is that it is grounded in historical facts. The people it mentions are real. The places are real. Archaeological discoveries back it up. Contemporary historical documents support the essential facts of its beginnings.

Christianity isn’t based on the private revelations of God to one individual, which everyone else had to believe. Instead, it’s based on what Jesus of Nazareth publicly said and did. The documents underpinning Christianity are eyewitness reports that can be tested for historical reliability.

The real question is not whether Jesus of Nazareth existed - that was settled long ago when he walked the roads of Palestine. The real question is, “Was Jesus who he said he was?”

That’s a much better question because the answer to that question has transformed millions of lives. It could transform yours, as well.
