God often chooses the unexpected man to accomplish his goals. This is because God’s method of choosing tends to be much different, and much deeper, than how we tally the score. The only person we’re likely to assess accurately is ourselves, and even then we often exchange God’s criteria for one less fitting.

God is able to look at our hearts, and he often uncovers positive traits even we have overlooked. He draws out of us a deeper strength than we thought we possessed. He produces from us more than we thought ourselves capable of. God is actively working to draw the very best out of the core of who he made you to be.

God, help me to see myself and others the way you see us. Please grow in my heart the qualities you desire and keep me from focusing on traits that don’t matter. Thank you for working to grow me.
