Fruitful Faith

DAY 5 OF 5

HOLD ON TO THE COMMANDMENT OF THE LORD

As parents, we hope and pray that our children will always love the Lord and live in the fear of God. This is because we know that our children's future will be guaranteed and they will be able to face anything in life when they love the Lord and live in the fear of God.

God has the same hope for His people. In Deuteronomy 5, the Israelites heard Moses as he recounted their forefathers' journeys with God. During that time, the Israelites were afraid to talk to God directly. Because of that, they decided to send Moses to God for him to relay the message. They promised to listen and do it. The state of the Israelites’ God-fearing hearts attracted God. He hoped that the hearts of His chosen people would always be in that condition. For those who maintain a God-fearing heart, there is a guarantee that their condition and that of their offspring will be good forever.

Fearing the Lord and holding on to all of God's words are still applicable today. If we hope for good for our future and descendants, we have to learn to maintain a God-fearing heart and hold fast to all the truth of His word.

Today’s devotional

1. God still expects us to fear Him and hold on to all His words. Are you willing to fulfill that hope?

2. Is there a barrier within you that keeps your heart attached to God's word?

Today’s action

Let us learn to keep a God-fearing heart and hold fast to all the truth of His word.

Day 4

About this Plan

Fruitful Faith

Faith is something we must cultivate in our lives. The more we hold on to the promises of His word, the more our faith will grow and bear fruit. May this devotional give us the strength to have fruitful faith.
