Do You Want to Be Successful?Sample
Let's have eternal treasures
We often have the perspective that success is synonymous with wealth and position. The longing to have wealth and position begins from the desire to fulfill the needs of life. Things that used to be "necessities of life" also change and develop. What was previously a "luxury" often gradually turns into a “necessity of life”. Finally, life is filled with the ambition to become richer or the ability to have power and everything else.
Are we aware that abundant money cannot buy health, a magnificent house cannot bring peace, and everything is meaningless when we face death? Achievement, fame, and position are only temporary. There are people in the past who achieved it or other people in the future who will exceed our achievements. Does everything we have worked so hard to gain only have temporary value?
The Lord gave us the choice to pursue eternal treasures which we can enjoy both on earth while we live, and in heaven when we return to the Father. Jesus taught us to accumulate treasures in heaven that cannot be stolen and damaged. Our treasures in heaven are Jesus himself and our relationship and knowledge of Him. Our hearts and attentions are focused on where our treasure is. God wants us to focus our hearts on knowing and following Him. When we get to know God intimately, we will have a purpose in life aligned with God's beautiful plan in our lives. True wealth and success are the fulfillment of God's plans in our lives.
All our "success" in this world will have eternal value when it aligns with God's plan. God plans to make us be a blessing with all our achievements and treasures in this world, testimony, generosity, kindness, and influence. Everything that we receive from our success in the world is God's tool and channel to serve other people around us and bring glory to the name of Lord Jesus.
Reflection:
1. What has been our priority so far? Where do we invest our time, energy, thoughts, and money?
2. Has Jesus become the most valuable treasure in our lives?
