Embrace Change - One Step at a TimeSample
Life is messy.
As a novelist, I write stories about people who have gone through troubled times, but who also manage to find love and happiness. If there is one thing for certain in all of these stories, and probably not so different from your life, their lives are messy. But that mess is what makes the story interesting. It’s what makes us hope, cry, and cheer for change in their lives, and gives us that warm and fuzzy feeling when all is finally right in their world.
I find that kind of comfort in God’s promises every day. We have them in writing right there in the Bible. And if you haven’t kept your Bible out and close to you in a long while, maybe it’s a good time to drag it out. Online tools, such as apps, are nice. But when my heart is heavy, holding my Bible in my hands just brings me a different kind of comfort.
You’re going through change, or thinking it’s time for one, which is what brought you to this plan today. And that’s great, because prayer is the right place to start, and I’m excited to pray with you today.
Friends and family will be quick to give you advice. Listen. Take it in, but our Lord and Savior wrote your journey. He knew well before now that you’d be going through this, and He can provide you not only the direction, but confidence in that walk.
Yeah, life is messy, but all of that mess will lead to growth, and that’s what makes your story special. It might feel painful now, but your powering through with grace is going to be a testament to someone else somewhere down the road. Believe it.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your wisdom and strength to get through and grow through this time of change. Thank You for holding us close and comforting us. We understand we each have a unique journey, and that You are the one to guide us. For anyone who is seeking Your direction today, I pray You would speak to their hearts and make Your plan known. Help us learn to listen and trust You as we take those first steps. Amen.
