Don’t Give Up On Your Good Friends

“Love...always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” 1 Corinthians 13:6a-7

Godly friendships are one of life’s greatest blessings. It’s good to have someone walk with you through the good and bad seasons. My longtime friends have seen me at my best and worst, and thankfully, they love me anyway.

What do you do if one of your good friends hurts you? How can you stay friends? Long-lasting friendships require commitment and grace and an attitude of hoping for the best. Our friends are human and can say or do things that can hurt us. But, if you and your friend are both Believers in Christ, you have the Holy Spirit inside of you helping you to forgive and stay friends.

The next time one of your godly friends hurts you, pray for her instead of getting angry and wanting to call it quits. Ask God to help you to assume the best. She may be having an off day and needs grace. Go to her and ask her if she’s okay. Let her know you care.
