5 Days of Friendship FoundationsSample
Encourage One Another
Life is hard enough without us women being hard on each other. Staying true to your faith can be really challenging when lies, worries, and stress fight for our attention and turn us away from God. Great friendships are ones that encourage one another and build each other up (see 1 Thessalonians 5:11).
The metaphor in Ecclesiastes 4 shows the necessity of having encouraging friendships: “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, ESV). Our friendships are designed to encourage each other in our faith journeys—together we can go through some of life’s hardest obstacles and pitfalls.
God is using you today to grow and support Kingdom work in the lives of your friends.
Pray
“God, help me to use my words to build my friends up. Instead of criticizing or judging a friend, help me maintain a posture of kindness and encouragement.”
