Merciful Moments for M.O.M.SSample
O-Open Your Mouth and Celebrate!
It wasn’t enough. After only four months of nursing, I switched to feeding my daughter with formula. I felt that I had let her down. I wasn’t producing enough milk to continue nursing. I didn’t want my daughter to have anything but the best. As I cried out to my mom, she didn’t want me to be so hard on myself. While I didn’t have the desired outcome that I wanted, she encouraged me to celebrate and give thanks to God for what I could provide.
When was the last time you told yourself, “I’m doing a great job?” As Moms, we spend so much time juggling daily demands while also finding time to take care of ourselves. As we want not to drop the ball each day, we often lose sight of celebrating God’s goodness and our progress. I encourage you to celebrate God’s faithfulness, who you are, and how far you’ve come.
Receiving God’s mercy helps free us from setting unrealistic expectations and let go of perfectionism. We can then celebrate more of our everyday wins.
My complaints often outweigh my gratitude at the end of a long day. In these moments, God reminds me to pause, pray, and praise! My mind renews, my mood shifts, and my perspective changes.
In Psalm 100:1, David praised the Lord!
There will always be more you want to accomplish. During your busy day, find time to celebrate! Keep a gratitude journal and affirm yourself with uplifting scripture.
Don’t wait for others to celebrate or co-sign on your greatness! When we celebrate who we are in Christ, it is a powerful act of worshiping God.
Newsflash: Our circumstances should not dictate our celebration!
Celebrate God’s faithfulness.
Celebrate the ways you have grown.
Celebrate the lessons that you have learned.
Celebrate the gift of your children.
Celebrate that God’s new mercies are fresh every morning!
Psalm 136:1 states, “Give thanks to the Lord for He is good. His love endures forever.”
Continue to celebrate and give God thanks for the ways He continues to strengthen, cover, direct and lead you!
Reflection Question: What will you celebrate today? Write a thank you letter to God and list at least five things you are grateful for.
