Walking With Jesus (Unity)

DAY 1 OF 7

Learning from Ants

Philippians 2:19-21

One television show showed a program about someone finding an ant nest in a pile of dry leaves. The man saw thousands of ants coming out from the nest when he lifted the leaves. He also found thousands of white eggs there. Every ant tried to take an egg and bring it to a safe place. In just a short time, the ants had disappeared to safety along with the eggs.

Interestingly, it turns out that the ants did not save their eggs. These worker ants saved the queen's eggs. They were not picky. Without anyone giving them orders, they picked up the eggs, carried them to another place, and returned for another egg. These ants teach us about selflessness.

Humans have intelligence far above ants, but they are more selfish. It is easy for humans to fight with each other. The higher his selfishness, the greater tendency he has to quarrel. Imagine what would happen if this happened in the family or the church?

Timothy and Epaphroditus are a picture of human and co-worker relationships in ministry. There was no selfishness in their ministries with Paul. Paul realized that the two of them were the only ones with the same heart and mind in that ministry. They did not care for their interests but the interests of Christ.

Reflection:

1. In what ways do you often become selfish?

2. Does your selfishness often cause a fight?

3. In what ways do you have the same heart and mind as Christ? What is the use of having one heart and mind about God and others?

Practice: Learn to think about other people's interests in the areas you are still selfish. Let's pay attention to its impact and continue applying it in your daily life.

Day 2

About this Plan

Walking With Jesus (Unity)

We often hear the phrase: God is present and works through unity, but what does God want us to do? Through this devotional series, "Walking with Jesus," about unity, we will learn how to apply and understand the Lord's blessing for His children, who live in unity in all aspects of their lives.
