Key People: Key People From The BibleSample
Peter
The attention Peter is getting from the people also attracts the attention of religious leaders. Persecution of the people who follow Jesus now begins. The leaders are surprised when Peter is not intimidated by their authority and superior educations, but Peter relies on God’s power and doesn’t need to be fearful. Peter will spend the remainder of his life fishing for men, and tradition tells us he died for his faith.
Peter’s faith is much stronger now than it was when Jesus was crucified. Having the Holy Spirit inside him had even more impact on him than walking around with Jesus. We have access to the same Holy Spirit today. Hopefully, you are learning to depend on God more and falling victim to fear less.
