Can the Resurrection Change My Life?Sample
If you have placed your trust in Jesus Christ, you are part of His resurrection. You are born again and a new creature. If you have risen with Him, you need to seek those things which are above.
The Apostle Paul was writing this truth to the church of Colosse. The culture and society of Colosse were that of pagan temples to the Greek gods and goddesses. The worshippers would come into a temple and bring their sacrifice to the idol, leave, and live exactly the way they did before they came in. Their sacrifice to idols did absolutely nothing to change their life or make them any different.
But when you have risen with Christ, there is now a claim on your life. You cannot just go in and offer the Lord Jesus Christ a “sacrifice” on Sunday, and then go back to your sin on Monday without God’s loving chastening on your life. There is also the reaping of the consequences of that type of life.
That is not the life that Christ has for you. He has a higher way of living. If we are risen with Christ, now we need to know what God wants of us in this life. The resurrection demands of us that we seek the things which are above.
He wants us to live His life now on this earth since He is not here. So, seek…search for what God desires. It takes effort and thought. But, it is something we should wake up to and think, “Lord, help me to seek the things which are above, to search out those things you want for my life.” If we make this a daily habit, the power of the resurrection will change our lives.
About this Plan
We live in a crazy world that is drifting farther away from God by the day, but the power of Jesus’ resurrection is life-changing. The same power of God that raised Jesus from the grave is still available to you today. Let’s tap into that living hope so we can serve the Lord in a way that we never could before.
