Expect the UnexpectedSample
It is important that you understand the scripture Psalm 37:23: “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord.” God can literally tell you where to go and what to do so that he can meet all of your needs. When it comes to resources the scripture is clear: “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” You see, His ability to meet our needs is undeniable, but who or what He will use to meet those needs is unknown and can often be a complete surprise, or unexpected.
Remember how God instructs Elijah that a raven would feed him during a season when there was a famine in the land? “I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there.” Isn’t it odd that a bird known to prey on everything would be instructed to feed someone? Odd, but just like our God though, right? After all, His ways are not our ways. Even after the raven’s provision, God releases another nonconventional command to Elijah so that his needs could be met later. “I have directed a widow there to supply you with food.” Interestingly, widows were the poorest of the poor in that period, yet God commanded one to be the UNEXPECTED resource to meet Elijah’s need.
My friends, stand ready in this season and listen closely! God can supply all of our needs, but as His servants, we must be locked in to hear His unexpected direction on how to unlock our blessings and provisions. In fact, be open to hearing the same way the widow heard! This time God may be calling you to serve as the unexpected resource!
