Psalms Streak: A Daily Devotional in the PsalmsSample

Be Bold
According to the World Health Organization, 45% of all child deaths worldwide are from causes related to undernutrition. There are an estimated 84 million refugees living in the world. According to one source, there are 49 countries in the world that are designated as oppressed or "not free". Men and women are put in prisons because of their religious beliefs every day. Widows and orphans are left to fight for themselves and are shown no mercy by governments and even churches.
Psalm 146 tells us that the Lord executes justice, feeds the hungry, watches the refugees, and protects the widows and orphans. How does He do that? Ephesians 2:10 gives us a pretty straightforward answer: "We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” God uses US to do those things on earth. He gives US the power and resources to help the helpless. He calls US to feed the hungry and care for the widows and orphans. He asks US to take in the refugee and fight for the prisoner. WE are God's hands and feet here on earth. We are called to BE BOLD and spend our lives loving those who need our help.
GO DEEP: Stop and pray for each category listed. What can you do TODAY to help someone from the list in our devotion?
BE BOLD: Who needs to hear this? Who could you share it with?
