What I Really WantSample
Sometimes, when we’re trying to do better in life, we can find ourselves looking back and missing the old version of ourselves – the one that seemed to have more fun, not care about our choices as much and didn’t take our faith as seriously. It seems like that person had more freedom. However, in this verse, Paul is saying that the old you wasn’t free. They were trapped in behaviors that weren’t good. It’s easy to imagine the past was better than it was, especially when the present is difficult. But sometimes what seems easier, doesn’t mean it was best for us. Today, instead of looking backwards and missing what was, celebrate how you have grown in your faith and the freedom you have.
