Many initially come to Christ because they know they need saving from their sins, which is valid and essential to understand. But, we must move on to maturity and understand that our lives are no longer just ours but His. When I turn to Jesus as Lord, it means that I am looking to Him as my ultimate authority in all areas of life. He empowers us to think, grow and take dominion on earth, but we do all of that with the understanding that He has the final word. Lord means that it’s His way over my way. You cannot have Jesus without Him being Lord.
