Place of Prayer

Are you ready to put some time aside to pray every day during Lent? It’s a big ask, and you might find it difficult, but keep in mind you are trying to establish a rhythm, so give yourself some room to grow into it. You can do it! In today’s scripture, Jesus is teaching you how to talk to Him.

Let’s get practical as we follow Jesus’ words in today’s scripture. He invites us to do something very practical so we can pray.

He invites you to find a space. Not just any space, but a quiet, secluded space, where you can have honest, uninterrupted conversations with God. A place where you can be yourself when you talk to Him.

Take some time today and find your place, a physical place, where you feel comfortable to pray and won’t get distracted.

Next, think about when you want to pray? I the morning, during the day, or the evening?

May you find the best spot as your place of prayer, as you will use this place every day for the next 40 days.

Exercise:

You’ve found your space. Now think about what you can do to be present without distraction. For one, leave your phone somewhere else.

When you go to your place today – try the following to help you become present. Stand at the entrance of your place and pray this prayer: “Thank you, God, for this moment. I believe you are here. I want to meet with you, and I believe you want to meet with me. Lord, speak to me and work with me.”
