Jesus…at Home in Your HeartSample
There is nothing like a breath of fresh air after the stale, cold, and cramped days of winter. How invigorating, on the first day of spring, to throw open the windows and enthusiastically welcome sunshine, the sweet fragrance of new growth, and an exhilarating breeze into one’s home!
Prayer is the way in which we are spiritually able to bring new life, vivid atmosphere, and renewed hope into the heart that we call home. When you open your heart through the windows of prayer, you will be offered a view of life that is filled with unmatched possibilities and uncommon assignments.
How wonderful that God would ask us, as fallible human beings, to partner with Him in filling the world with His hope! The partnership that God offers is accompanied by the personal invitation to pray. How marvelous that the Father allows us the opportunity to pick up the shovel of prayer and begin digging the foundation of kingdom living while in the confines of time. How miraculous to believe that our prayers make a difference in the lives of those whom we love!
Charles Spurgeon said, “To pray is to enter the treasure-house of God and to gather riches out of an inexhaustible storehouse.”
I encourage you to throw open the windows of your heart and expose your life to the breeze of the Holy Spirit. As the Holy Spirit rushes into the winter places of your heart, you will experience burgeoning life and sprouting joy as never before. The Holy Spirit will reward you with new assignments and with unique purpose as you spend time in prayer. There has never been a better time to offer your life in the pursuit of prayer. Throw open your heart and pray!
Heart Inspection:
What excites you about spending time in prayer?
Who has prayed for you along your life’s journey? Have you taken the time to thank that person?
What is one miracle that you have experienced in your lifetime? Tell someone about it this week. It will be an encouragement to them!
Heartfelt Prayer:
Jesus, today I open the windows of my heart and enter into a divine partnership of prayer with You! Father, give me assignments in prayer to which I can commit myself. Give me the power of the Holy Spirit to accomplish Your purposes. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
