22 Days of Peace

DAY 22 OF 22

The Kingdom Peace

As believers, we live in the Kingdom of God. It is different than the kingdoms of this world and the unseen kingdom of darkness. In fact, the kingdom of darkness controls what is going on in this world. The Bible tells us that the systems of this world are under the sway of the wicked one. That is the reason why you will never find righteousness, peace, and joy in the world or its systems. They are opposed to God because they are under the sway of the enemy. In contrast, we see that whatever we need we can find in the kingdom of God. We need righteousness and it can only be found within the kingdom of God. Righteousness is both the position of being right with God and the practice of doing right God’s way. That means that righteousness is the kingdom place and the kingdom practice. We also need peace. Peace is found in the kingdom of God as well. Jesus overcame the kingdom of darkness with His victory at the cross. His victory means the war is over. That is why we pray the kingdom comes on the earth as it is in Heaven. We are bringing the victory of Jesus into our daily life on earth and with that victory, the war that is waged against us is a war that is already won. When the kingdom victory is enforced then you experience the peace of the kingdom. The natural result of being in God’s kingdom, doing God’s will, and experiencing God’s peace will be joy. Joy is much greater than happiness. Happiness is dependent on circumstances but joy comes no matter what you’re facing. As you go throughout your day don’t forget what kingdom you’re a part of. Live your life in the place and practice of God’s ways. As you do the peace and joy will follow.
