End Goal
Having a clear destination makes your path easier to navigate. If you know what your end goal is, you can keep it in mind when difficulty arises. Without the motivation of a clear purpose, it can be easy to stray from the right path. If your main goal as a mother is for your children to be healthy and well educated, then this will dictate the life of your family. If your main goal is for them to be well-behaved or self-sufficient, this will also dictate how you interact with them. For better or worse, your values have power over your everyday life.
The same is true when it comes to your relationship with God. What is your end goal? The Psalmist says that joy in God’s presence and eternal pleasures at His right hand are what is to come. Let this impact the way you live today. His highest goal for you is joy in his presence and eternity together.
Father, thank you that your plans for me are not a mystery. I don’t have to fret that I’m not on the right path because you have made it clear. Help me to value joy in your presence above all else. Teach me how to keep my eyes steady on eternity in your presence and let that dictate how I live and love now.
