The verse from 1 Thessalonians, chapter 5, verse 17, where Paul talks about praying continually, has been translated in many different ways, The Good News Bible says, ‘Pray at all times,' adding another dimension to our understanding of how we can pray. Not just sometimes. At all times!

Surely we long to be in tune with God through each and every situation we are in. We do that by praying. At all times!

If we silently acknowledge God as we go about our daily lives, he will become part of all that we are and all that we do. If we keep in touch with him throughout the day, it will help us to have an underlying awareness of his presence with us. At all times!

Let’s remember that ‘at all times’ means times when we are at work, at home or with our friends. But, to be more specific, what about times when we are busy, overstretched, upset, stressed, sorry, afraid and worried? We can pray when we are walking down the street, or waiting in a queue, when we are cleaning our teeth, or cleaning our car. Of course, there are also times when we’re happy, thankful, excited and joyful – the list is endless!

Pray. At all times!
