Speak to Their Heart: 5 Ways to Love Your Spouse Well Sample

Have eyes only for them
It is your job to let your spouse know they are the only one for you. In our world marriage is constantly under attack. We see marriages fall apart all around us. But we have an opportunity to protect ours with our words and actions. Our words can be a destructive force or a sweet and gracious gift.
There is a common fear that over time attraction will fade away. Today, don’t leave room for your spouse to doubt! Let them know they are the only one for you. That you are proud they are yours, and that time hasn’t diminished your attraction to them.
Proverbs 5 speaks to maintaining the delights of married attraction. Enjoying and renewing the spark in your marriage will also help protect your marriage; helping to prevent an area where temptation could creep in, as Ephesians 4 warns. Cultivate closeness and attraction by remembering, noticing, and focusing on the things you especially like about your spouse. Then encourage your spouse by sharing that your love and devotion are loyal and true.
Next Steps: With what you’ve learned about your spouse this week, shower them with love and affection. Step out of the norm to pursue them in a new way.
