THE GREATEST GIFT

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given...” – Isaiah 9:6 

Whether or not you feel that the Christmas season has become too commercialized, we can all agree that it is a time of gift-giving, and that people naturally reserve the biggest and costliest gifts for those they love the most. This Christmas, let’s remember that God’s love for us is measured by the gift that he gave—his beloved Son. There was nothing better in heaven. He is the one incomparable gift from our heavenly Father, encompassing all other gifts, including life, peace, joy, hope, and love.  “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

Christmas is about giving, because God gave his only Son. In the midst of all of the season’s activity, let’s take the opportunity to tell someone who doesn’t know Christ that this indescribable gift is available to them as well!
