Simply put, a blueprint is a plan. When a blueprint is followed correctly, the result is a new creation. God has a plan for us, and we become a new creation when we follow that plan! The blueprint for salvation is found in the Bible, and the Bible itself is constructed according to a plan.

But why are blueprints so important?

Blueprints don’t usually get the acknowledgment they deserve no matter how crucial they are in the project documentation. Your blueprints and drawings are based on and created from your project specifics. These specifics describe objectives, functionality, and how project requirements will be achieved. Blueprints communicate all the technical details found in them.

Construction blueprints or plans contain all the details needed for a project. These details are needed to request permits, determine the schedule, and eventually do the construction itself. Every construction worker needs to know how to read blueprints. Anyone who tries to skip this step will find that their work will not be done properly, nor will they ever be good at this job. On top of that, construction plans offer a detailed overview of the project’s scope to the people on site.

All in all, blueprints are a cornerstone for completing any construction project, regardless of how small or big it is. Without an accurate and up-to-date construction plan, the field teams can’t complete their tasks in a timely manner and avoid wasting time and resources.

The Bible is the blueprint for constructing the project that is our lives. The Bible gives us God’s standard for living. It is the plumb line for how we build our lives.

In Old Testament times and still today, a plumb line was used in construction. It consists of a long piece of string, weighted at one end, which indicates a perfectly straight line when held from above. It is used for comparison in a building project to be certain the walls and structure are not leaning to one side.

The scripture is the ultimate plumb-line. The measuring rod against which everything must line up.

God will always be faithful to His word. And in His word, He declares that He has a blueprint made specifically for each one of us.
