Psalms Of Praise And The WordSample
Passionate Love
Psalm 115 begins: “You are the One who loves us passionately” (v. 1, TPT). Once a person has encountered this divine love, they have a testimony no unbeliever can destroy. Unbelievers worship the created, not the Creator, and as such, the object of their idolatry cannot speak to them or hear them.
We, on the other hand, worship the Creator, and he is personal and loving; he hears and answers us. This God wraps his presence around his beloved and gives them not only a great intimacy, but a great authority. The heavens belong to him, but the earth belongs to us (v. 16). Let’s welcome the fire of God’s passionate love into our hearts every day.
“I am passionately in love with God.” Turn this phrase into your own cry of worship, and allow the Holy Spirit to blow upon the embers of your heart until you are aflame with love again.
Psalm 115:1 The Passion Translation
“God, glorify your name! Yes, your name alone be glorified, not ours! For you are the One who loves us passionately, and you are faithful and true.”
