What do you think of when you hear the word “Easter”? Were Easter eggs on your list? Some people say Easter eggs are a sign for new life. Others say the eggs represent the stone at the tomb that had been rolled away when Mary went there.

Imagine: an Easter egg so big that you can’t move it! But it’s rolled away!

Imagine: a horrible, hopeless situation turned good. That’s what Mary found!

Mary Magdalene loved Jesus very much. He had been her special friend and now he was dead. She was so sad that she could not stop crying. She didn’t want to leave the tomb, and, as she looked inside, she saw two angels!

What did the angels say to Mary?

“They have taken away…”

• “... the stone”;
• “... the body of Jesus”; or
• “... the grave clothes.”

Mary didn’t know that soon she would have the most wonderful surprise.
