DAY 4 OF 32

EVERY Day

Roger Lipe

READY

“Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.” — Ephesians 6:13

SET

Think about the drills you plan as a part of your daily practices for your teams. Which ones are most effective in developing your players’ skills, physical conditioning, and mindset?

How do you prioritize time and energy to get them done? Which of those exercises seem to be a waste of time? What would it be like to have a similar set of daily exercises designed to build your life in Christ and share that experience with those you influence?

How would you arrange your daily schedule to see them through? The apostle Paul wrote his friends in Ephesus about three such daily drills:

  1. Put on every piece of God’s armor.
  2. Resist the enemy.
  3. Stand firmly.

These three daily drills were the foundation of the apostle’s life, and they can be the same for you and your players.

GO

  • Read Ephesians 6:14–17. What are the various elements of God’s armor that we are challenged to put on daily? How can you set an example for your athletes?
  • Who is the enemy of our souls? What would it look like to resist him?
  • Upon what truths will you take your stand?

WORKOUT

1 Corinthians 16:13; Joshua 1:9; James 4:7

OVERTIME

"Father, thank You for providing strong and effective armor for my soul. Thank You for empowering me to resist our enemy. Please strengthen me to stand firmly as I represent You among my teammates, in my family, and our community. I pray in Jesus’s wise and powerful name. Amen."

About this Plan

EVERY

The EVERY FCA Devotional features a 31-day reading plan to help coaches and athletes develop a habit of reading the Bible daily and applying it to their lives. For a moment each day, we can dig deep into God's Word and pursue a relationship with Jesus Christ and His Kingdom.
