DAY 29 OF 32

Practice in Perseverance

Hannah Wiedemann

READY

“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” — Galatians 6:9

SET

I remember the feeling through my whole body after an intense game like it was yesterday. I remember the feeling of leaving knowing that I had left everything I had in me on the court. I grew up playing volleyball and loved this feeling more than anything in the world. This feeling meant that I gave it all I had.

But an even better feeling that doesn’t get any glory or recognition is the same feeling of exhaustion after practice. Practice is what produces the skills and abilities to perform at a high level in a game. That is where it counts—in the overlooked, undervalued, mundane practices. I think that is so similar to our walk with the Lord. We must seek Him daily. We must constantly root ourselves in the Word of God and seek His heart in prayer.

We must know who He is and learn the Scriptures so we can use them when we are in situations where we can share the Gospel or fight against the Enemy's lies.

This is not easy, and you might start to feel the same weariness you feel after an intense practice, but that is where it matters. Much like strong practices produce great games, strong dedication to the Lord in your daily life will produce great fruit. Galatians 6:9 says, “So let’s not grow tired of doing what is good. At just the right time, we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”

We must not give up on doing good. Stay strong and live fully and fiercely for the Lord, for at the right time, you will reap a harvest of blessings.
