Decisions

DAY 5 OF 5

The Ultimate Decision

We make decisions every day: What are we going to eat? What are we going to wear? Are we going to take a shower? Are we going to make the bed? We make dozens, hundreds, thousands of decisions every day. It is estimated that the average adult may make up to 35,000 decisions a day. Many of them are mindless decisions, but perhaps 70 of them, every day, are consequential decisions that make a tangible difference in life.

Decisions are important because they have consequences and ultimately determine the direction of our lives. Where you attend college is in the top three or four decisions in your life. Obviously, who you marry is toward the top of the list; it’s number two. Be careful; be wise. Know that there’s long-term consequences when you choose your spouse.

The most important decision you will ever make in your life is what you will do with Jesus Christ. Pilate asked, “What shall I do with Jesus, who is called the Messiah?” The crowd answered; they made their choice: “Crucify him. Do away with him” (Matthew 27:22–23).

What about you? What have you been doing with Jesus? It’s your choice. You may have made a lot of bad choices in the past. There’s enough power in the Holy Spirit, and enough power in the cross of Calvary, that whatever your bad choices were in the past, you can still make the choice to follow Jesus Christ, serve Him with all of your heart, and be His child. Before you are blessings and curses, eternal life and eternal damnation. Before you is the cross. What will you choose? Don’t make the worst decision of your life and reject Jesus. Make the best decision you will ever make in your life and choose to serve Jesus Christ. Hallelujah.

What have you done with Jesus Christ? You can change your whole life. You can change your whole future by deciding to fully, completely follow Jesus. You can pray: “Jesus, I believe in You. I believe You died on the cross, rose from the dead, and are alive today. I invite You into my life. Forgive me of my sins and wash away my bad decisions. I choose You. I give You everything. I want to follow You, Jesus, for the rest of my life.”
