Mary, Did You Know?Sample
Mary shared her joy
“At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, where she entered Zechariah’s home and greeted Elizabeth.” (Luke 1:39-40)
When the angel told Mary that she would carry a special Child, he also told her that Mary’s relative Elizabeth was going to have a baby as well, although she was already in her old age and had been unable to conceive. No wonder Mary went to visit her! It must have been a great relief to share the wonderful news with someone who was also involved in God’s miraculous plans. Moreover, Elizabeth’s pregnancy was a confirmation for Mary that the angel’s words were real and trustworthy.
The Bible contains more stories where believers seek each other’s company to share good news. A good example is of two disciples who were disappointed and sad after Jesus’ death. They were walking from Jerusalem to Emmaus. A man walked with them and talked with them — but they did not recognize Him until He ate with them and broke the bread. Then they finally realized that this man was the risen Lord Himself! He vanished from their sight, but the joy that He was alive was so great that they went straight back to Jerusalem to share this news with the disciples gathered there.
Do you know fellow believers with whom you can share the joy of the Gospel?

About this Plan
“All generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me,” Mary sang. And she was right. She became the mother of Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God! This gives her a unique position in God’s salvation plan. This reading plan is about Mary, a humble and blessed woman with great faith.
