Day 8 — Who Is This Baby?
“Who Is This Baby” is a wonderful reminder of the powerful truth that Jesus was more than a baby, and but He is a Savior, a Counselor, Comforter and Friend.
Who is this baby You have given to me
Who is this young boy, He is no ordinary child
He’s come to save the world
He’s come to rescue hearts of men
Who is this baby
Counselor and Comforter
Carpenter and a fisherman
Healer and teacher
He is the King
Unbelievers in the world only see a baby in a manger during Christmastime. It’s what the nativity focuses on, and it is what we celebrate. But it is our job to ensure that they can see past the baby to the all-encompassing power that is Jesus. We need to be a city on a hill, a shining example of what life abundantly looks like.
That means when others are sick, we’re speaking healing. When others are struggling financially, we have supernatural favor. When others have broken marriages, we’ve found the way to keep our relationships strong. We’re showing the world that Jesus is more than a baby, He’s our Righteousness (Romans 5:18), He’s our Shepherd (Psalm 23), He’s our Healer (Psalm 103:2-3), He’s our Overcomer (John 16:33), He’s our Peace (Micah 5:5), He’s our Hope (Hebrews 6:19) and so much more.
Jesus is the only beautiful, eternal gift in a world of temporal and disposable gifts. He came to this earth so we could have a relationship with Him, and to give us full and abundant life. A life wrapped up in the perfect person of Jesus.
