Living the Connected Life
As children of God, it is important to know that we need to belong to a family and have vital relationships in our lives. These connections should include our immediate and extended families, the spiritual community of believers, our professional networks, social circles, and communal neighbors—all of whom we must place value on.
To live the connected life, there must be a constant renewal of our minds, starting with our connection to God, and then to the people who God brings to us and vice versa.
Jesus, in conversing with the Samaritan woman, demonstrated this connection by allowing His unbiased love flow to her. He did not condemn her, neither did He take advantage of her as other men may have done in the past. Rather, He had compassion on her, and she readily recognized it. We all respond to love, so those around us must feel the genuine love, empathy, and compassion of Christ expressed through us.
Prayer: Dear God, I ask that You make me a carrier of Your love. Help me to live a connected life like Jesus Christ. I receive grace to be a compassionate person, and I let the love of Christ flow through me. Amen.
