Dreams That Flourish

The film The Greatest Showman is one of those stories that reaches in to grab the audience’s hearts, despite what they may think of the promoter’s history. Seeing someone overcome odds and achieve their dreams does have a profound effect on the spirit of individuals and continues to be a mainstay in western cinema. 

From a Christian perspective, goals and dreams are not merely for the individual. The actual source of these pursuits finds its roots in God and His purposes for life. 

We are made by God, who moves our lives from ordinary to extraordinary. This includes what we aspire to achieve in our lives or, in other words, our dreams. But how can we tell if these dreams are from God or if they are based on our own preferences? 

When seeking the answer to this question, many wish that God would just write His will on the wall or send us a text message on our phone. But that is not really God’s style since He rarely chooses to make His choice that obvious. Instead, He wants people to diligently look to Him for guidance. We need to seek him. 

God knows that the process of seeking Him is as important as the answer He might give to any question. As you take steps of faith and learn to recognise His leading, you will grow and flourish spiritually and strengthen your relationship with Him. Thankfully God does not leave us without the means of discovering the answers to our dreams and His will.
