5 Powerful Prayers to Strengthen the Hearts of Our TeachersSample
Hearts of Hope
Do you ever find yourself saying, I hope the drive thru line moves fast, so I’m not late to work? I hope the new paint color makes our bathroom look bigger? I hope this student comes in with a good attitude today? We wish and hope for so many things. Listen to the Holman Bible Dictionary’s definition of hope: "Trustful expectation, particularly with reference to the fulfillment of God’s promises; to rely on something reliable."
Noah built the ark, then waited and hoped for the floodwaters to recede. The Israelites waited and hoped for the Messiah who would deliver them. Job waited and hoped for answers in the midst of tremendous suffering. Today, you may be celebrating hope realized, perhaps in the lives of one of your students, or you may be waiting and hoping, searching for something or someone reliable. God is the One we can set our hope on. We can rely on Him to fulfill His promises.
Today, as we conclude praying powerful prayers to strengthen the hearts of our teachers, we are grateful to our powerful God who is working in each of them. May our schools be filled with teachers whose eyes are lifted to God and who have set their hope on Him regardless of their circumstances.
Praise our God of Hope
Romans 15:13 reads, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Jesus, You are our source of hope, joy, and peace amidst global atrocities and health concerns. We give You praise for the tremendous power of Your hope.
Pray for Hearts to Find Hope in God
Words of comfort from Psalm 31:24 tell us, “Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.”
God, You know we tend to put our hope in job performance, relationships, health, and material possessions. Encourage each teacher to be discerning about what and who they place their hope in. May they be strong, take heart, and put their hope in You, as You are constant and faithful.
Pray for Hearts of Hope to Replace Despair
“Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God, because I will praise Him once again, since His presence saves me and He is my God.” Psalm 43:5
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3
Lord, we pray for each teacher who is in despair, feeling isolated or hopeless. Move powerfully, healing the brokenhearted, bringing Your hope and presence as You bind up their wounds. May teachers be aware of students who need a listening ear, an arm around the shoulder, or a word of encouragement, stepping forward as bearers of hope. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
